We really love staying at this rustic riverside campground.
This year we invited some friends along who had never been, and they loved it too!
Old Cowboy Ranch Campground Review:
Old Cowboy Ranch is a working ranch that boasts; peacocks, pigs, cattle, horses, chickens, ducks, emus, goats, a donkey and a wide variety of other farm animals.
Campsites are all situated along the Kettle River and vary from grassy tenting spots to private, treed sites.
Our likes:
Being close to the water, shady trees and privacy, store on site, hay and horse rides available, feeding the farm animals, very friendly staff and camp sites that accommodate tents to 30ft trailers.
Our dislikes:
Campsites need some work {levelling and removal of campfire ash} and it’s very rustic {no power, water or showers}.
We were greeted by this lovely peacock upon arriving to our campsite. They make quite a racket did you know? Made me jump a few times while setting up camp! ๐
He came to visit us every day ~ bribed with only a few rice krispies.
We like that the river is pretty shallow here too, only thigh deep all the way across.
The donkey was my favorite.
He was quite vocal too ~ and really funny!
The kids loved feeding all of the animals and requested a walk about the farm at least twice a day.
There were plenty of roosters and chickens too. Even a peacock who thought he was a chicken and chose to stay in the chicken coop.
Isaiah asked to go horseback riding during this trip. This was his first time up on a horse ~ he looks so little way up there!
