- 4 cups Honeycrisp apples peeled and thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1/2 cup butter melted
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup quick oats
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- Cool Whip in a can
Create four 12-inch square sheets of aluminum foil. Evenly divide the sliced apples between the sheets, placing them in the center.
In a medium bowl, combine the remaining ingredients and mix well until crumbly. We like to combine these ingredients in a large freezer bag at home and pack it for camping.
Spoon equal amounts of the topping mixture over each pile of apples.
Wrap each foil pack tightly, sealing the edges well so none of the juices escape while cooking.
Preheat a grill to medium heat, around 350°F, or prepare hot campfire coals. Place the foil packs on the grill or over the coals.
Cook for about 20 minutes, until the apples are tender and bubbling. Carefully open, top with whipped cream, and enjoy.
