Ingredients

  • 4 cups Honeycrisp apples peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup butter melted
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup quick oats
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • Cool Whip in a can

Instructions

  • Create four 12-inch square sheets of aluminum foil. Evenly divide the sliced apples between the sheets, placing them in the center.
  • In a medium bowl, combine the remaining ingredients and mix well until crumbly. We like to combine these ingredients in a large freezer bag at home and pack it for camping.
  • Spoon equal amounts of the topping mixture over each pile of apples.
  • Wrap each foil pack tightly, sealing the edges well so none of the juices escape while cooking.
  • Preheat a grill to medium heat, around 350°F, or prepare hot campfire coals. Place the foil packs on the grill or over the coals.
  • Cook for about 20 minutes, until the apples are tender and bubbling. Carefully open, top with whipped cream, and enjoy.
