- 1 can Pillsbury pizza crust
- 1/4 cup Primo pizza sauce
- 200 g Pepperoni sliced
- 1 cup Mozzarella shredded cheese
Open the pizza dough and press it into the bottom of the Dutch oven.
Spread pizza sauce on the dough.
Sprinkle generous amounts of mozzarella cheese over the dough.
Top with pepperoni slices and cover with the Dutch oven lid.
Cook over a low fire for 30-40 minutes or until the dough is baked and the cheese is melty.
-
Spray the interior of the oven with non-stick spray or line with parchment paper to help prevent sticking. A well seasoned cast iron oven will not need this.
- Rotate the Dutch oven often and move from open flame. Alternatively this can be baked in a trailer oven or over a BBQ grill.
- When cooking with cast iron, be sure to season the surface first.
- Always use gloves or oven mitts while cooking, as the surface of the iron will be hot.
- Cook the recipe over an open fire using hot coals, not open flames. A fire that is too hot will burn the outside of your recipe and not cook the inside.
- Be sure to clean the cast iron with a rough vegetable scrubber, rinse, and dry thoroughly before storing.
