Author: Heather Painchaud
Warm, gooey pie iron cookies are a great camping treat! These sweet delights are cooked over an open flame for a nostalgic outdoor dessert.
Prep Time 1 minute
Cook Time 12 minutes
Total Time 13 minutes
Servings 8 cookies

Ingredients

  • Pillsbury cookie dough
  • Non-stick cooking spray

Instructions

  • Spray the inside of the pie iron with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Open the package of cookie dough and squeeze about 2 Tbsp of dough onto one side of the iron.
  • Press the dough down slightly and repeat with the other side of the iron.
  • Do not close the pie iron and cook, open faced, over the fire for approximately 12 minutes. The cookies are done when they are slightly golden around the edges.
  • Allow to cool before removing from the iron.

Notes

  • Be sure to liberally spray the interior of the pie iron to help prevent the cookies from sticking!
  • Only use about 2 tablespoons of dough — too much and it oozes everywhere.
