Course Dessert
Servings 6

Ingredients

  • Six Original Rice Krispie Squares or homemade
  • 6 oz Chocolate candy melts
  • 1/2 cup graham crackers broken into pieces
  • 1/4 cup mini marshmallows
  • 2 Tbsp chocolate M&Ms

Instructions

  • Unwrap the Rice Krispie treats and place a lollipop stick into each one.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate wafers at 15-second intervals, stirring in between, until the chocolate is completely smooth.
  • Dip each Rice Krispie square halfway into the melted chocolate.
  • Place the treats on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet.
  • Sprinkle with crushed graham crackers, mini marshmallows, and chocolate M&Ms before the chocolate sets. Press them in gently to make sure that they really “stick”.
  • Place the crispy treats in the fridge and allow the chocolate to harden completely before serving.

Notes

  • Homemade Rice Krispie treats work just as well as store-bought ones, but using premade squares cuts out some of the work.
  • You could even make your squares with Golden Grahams cereal or Cocoa Krispies to boost those s'mores flavors.
  • For best results, use Wilton candy melts for smooth, even coating that won’t melt too quickly in warm weather.
  • Add a teaspoon of coconut oil to regular chocolate chips to help them melt smoothly.
  • Have your toppings handy in small bowls before dipping the squares in chocolate.
  • Lay the chocolate-covered treat on a parchment-lined baking sheet for easy moving and transporting before the chocolate has hardened.
  • Allow the chocolate to cool completely in the fridge or freezer before serving.
  • Wrap individual pops in plastic wrap for easy grab-and-go snacking at the campsite.
  • Store these yummy treats in a large freezer bag or airtight container for up to three months at room temperature.
  • Keep these treats in a cooler or shaded spot to prevent the chocolate from getting too soft, especially if the weather is quite warm.
