Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef cooked and browned
  • 1 pkg taco seasoning 2 Tbsp
  • 4 72g bags of corn chips
  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1/2 cup diced white onions

Instructions

  • In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until it’s fully browned. Break it up as it cooks to ensure it’s nice and crumbly.
  • Once the beef is browned, add the taco seasoning and stir well. Follow the instructions on the seasoning packet, adding water if needed. Let the beef simmer for a few minutes until it's flavorful and well-seasoned.
  • Open up the corn chip bags and gently crush them. You can use your hands or just knead the bag to break up the chips into bite-sized pieces.
  • Once the beef is ready and the chips are prepped, it's time to assemble your tacos. Spoon a generous amount of the seasoned beef into each corn chip bag. Then, top with shredded cheddar cheese and diced onions.
  • Grab a spoon and enjoy your Walking Tacos with Corn Chips!

Notes

  • Make the Beef Ahead of Time – If you want to save time while camping, cook the ground beef and season it with the taco seasoning before your trip. Pack it in a freezer bag, and all you’ll need to do is reheat it when you’re ready to assemble your tacos.
  • Choose Your Chips Wisely – While corn chips are the classic choice, feel free to experiment with different types of chips, like Tortilla chips or even Cool Ranch Doritos for a fun twist.
  • Add Extra Toppings – Get creative with your toppings! Consider adding sour cream, guacamole, or salsa to your Walking Tacos for a fresh, flavorful finish.
  • Use Pre-Shredded Cheese – To save time, opt for pre-shredded cheddar cheese. It’s convenient and melts beautifully over the warm seasoned beef.
  • Keep the Chips from Getting Soggy – To keep the chips from getting too soggy, make sure you don’t overfill your bags with the beef mixture. You want just enough for a balanced bite!
  • Make it Spicy – If you like a little heat, add some jalapeños, hot sauce, or chopped green chilies to your Walking Tacos for an extra kick.
