Prep Time 5 minutes mins
Cook Time 15 minutes mins
- 1 pound lean ground beef cooked and browned
- 1 pkg taco seasoning 2 Tbsp
- 4 72g bags of corn chips
- 1/2 cup cheddar cheese shredded
- 1/2 cup diced white onions
In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until it’s fully browned. Break it up as it cooks to ensure it’s nice and crumbly.
Once the beef is browned, add the taco seasoning and stir well. Follow the instructions on the seasoning packet, adding water if needed. Let the beef simmer for a few minutes until it's flavorful and well-seasoned.
Open up the corn chip bags and gently crush them. You can use your hands or just knead the bag to break up the chips into bite-sized pieces.
Once the beef is ready and the chips are prepped, it's time to assemble your tacos. Spoon a generous amount of the seasoned beef into each corn chip bag. Then, top with shredded cheddar cheese and diced onions.
Grab a spoon and enjoy your Walking Tacos with Corn Chips!
- Make the Beef Ahead of Time – If you want to save time while camping, cook the ground beef and season it with the taco seasoning before your trip. Pack it in a freezer bag, and all you’ll need to do is reheat it when you’re ready to assemble your tacos.
- Choose Your Chips Wisely – While corn chips are the classic choice, feel free to experiment with different types of chips, like Tortilla chips or even Cool Ranch Doritos for a fun twist.
- Add Extra Toppings – Get creative with your toppings! Consider adding sour cream, guacamole, or salsa to your Walking Tacos for a fresh, flavorful finish.
- Use Pre-Shredded Cheese – To save time, opt for pre-shredded cheddar cheese. It’s convenient and melts beautifully over the warm seasoned beef.
- Keep the Chips from Getting Soggy – To keep the chips from getting too soggy, make sure you don’t overfill your bags with the beef mixture. You want just enough for a balanced bite!
- Make it Spicy – If you like a little heat, add some jalapeños, hot sauce, or chopped green chilies to your Walking Tacos for an extra kick.
