This yummy skillet taco camping recipe is a one-pan, kid-approved dinner that's cheesy, hearty, and perfect for quick campfire meals with zero stress.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground beef prepared
  • 1 cup salsa
  • Head of lettuce
  • 1 cup Tex Mex shredded cheese
  • Nacho chips
  • Sour cream optional
  • Cilantro for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the ingredients.
  • Place ground beef, salsa, and cheese in the skillet.
  • Cook over the fire until cheese is melted and the dish is heated completely.
  • Top with fresh cilantro.
  • Serve with lettuce, nachos, and top with sour cream.

Notes

  • Cook and season the ground beef at home and store it in a large freezer bag for camping. This makes prep and clean up while camping easy!
  • Be sure to use oven mitts when handling the hot cast iron.
