Foil Packet Meatloaf Recipe

This easy recipe for juicy, flavorful hobo meatloaf, wrapped in foil and cooked over an open fire, is a camping must-try.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb Lean ground beef defrosted
  • 1/4 Onion diced
  • 1/4 cup Croutons crushed
  • 1 cup Tomato pasta sauce
  • 1 Egg

Instructions
 

  • Once your ground beef is fully defrosted, add all of the ingredients to a large bowl or a Ziploc freezer bag.
  • Combine ground beef, onion, croutons, tomato sauce, and egg together thoroughly.
  • Shape the meat mixture into a loaf and place it onto a large sheet of aluminum foil.
  • Wrap it tightly, then double-wrap with another layer of heavy duty foil to create a sturdy packet.5. Place the packet onto campfire coals or a charcoal grill, avoiding direct flames. Cook for 40–60 minutes.
  • Carefully unwrap (watch out for steam!), top with extra tomato sauce or ketchup, and enjoy!
