Sizzling steak, melty cheese, and tender peppers cooked in one skillet over the fire — this yummy skillet Philly cheesesteak recipe is campfire perfection!

Ingredients
  

  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 1 green bell pepper sliced
  • 1/2 onion sliced
  • 1 pound steak sliced thinly
  • 6 slices mozzarella or provolone cheese
  • Salt & pepper
  • Buns optional

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the ingredients.
  • Saute the veggies over the fire until the onion is opaque.
  • Add the steak and cook over the fire until done to your liking.
  • Add salt and pepper to taste.
  • Top with cheese and serve on buns or as is.

Notes

Tip: We like to do as much of the preparation for camping as we can at home. The onion and bell pepper were cut at home and stored in a large freezer bag for camping.
