This cheesy campfire dip recipe is one that we make on every camping trip!

It’s perfect for a light lunch with the family or sharing as an appetizer with friends. We seriously have this campfire dip every time that we go camping.

I often double this recipe when I make it because it gets devoured in no time and is great for sharing.

I like to keep the ingredients for this dip stocked in the trailer all summer. All you need is herb and garlic cream cheese, salsa, shredded cheddar cheese, and diced green onions.

How to Make This Cheesy Campfire Dip

Ingredients

  • 1 container herb and garlic cream cheese
  • 1 cup salsa
  • 1 cup shredded Tex Mex cheese
  • 2 green onion stalks, diced

Instructions

1. Place all of the ingredients into a tinfoil packet and set over the coals of a fire or a BBQ on low until the ingredients are melted and well incorporated. This usually takes about ten minutes for us.

2. Be sure to keep the packet out of direct flame to prevent the delicious insides from burning.

3. Serve with cut up vegetables and nacho chips.

We like to serve this dip with a variety of vegetables, crackers, and tortilla chips for dipping. I have fond memories of other campers asking us “what on earth are you making?”, trying some of this dip, and falling in love! It is just that good.

It’s easy to personalize this campfire dip to your family’s liking. Simply substitute your favorite kind of cream cheese for the herb and garlic cream cheese in this recipe.

My friend Holly likes to use jalapeño cream cheese for a spicy kick to their campfire dip. We use vegetable cream cheese and homemade salsa most often.

Just typing up this recipe has me wanting make more of this dip as soon as possible!
